Post new Shopify products to social media automatically
Paste your store address once. Each product you publish afterwards gets an on-brand post for Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn, with its photo, price and link.
To auto-post new Shopify products to social media with Orbin, connect your store URL as a Content Feed. Orbin reads the public product list every Shopify store has, so there is no app or API key, and drafts a post for each newly published product with its first photo, price, stock status and a tracked link, ready for your review.
Connect your Shopify store in four steps
- Step 1
Open Content Feeds and choose Store
In Orbin, open Content Feeds in the sidebar, click Connect a feed and choose Store.
- Step 2
Paste your store address
Your custom domain or your .myshopify.com address both work. Orbin recognises a Shopify store and reads its product list directly; you do not need to find a feed URL or install anything from the Shopify App Store.
- Step 3
Pick accounts, timing and instructions
Choose the connected accounts to post to and when posts should go out: as soon as a product is found, an hour or three hours later, or the next day. Optionally add instructions, such as “mention free shipping over $50”.
- Step 4
Publish products in Shopify as usual
Orbin records the products already in your store and from then on drafts a post for each one you publish. Approve, edit or delete each draft in Posts → Drafts.
What Orbin takes from your Shopify store
| Product list | Your store’s public /products.json list, the same data your storefront shows. It only includes published products, so drafts and archived products are never posted. |
|---|---|
| Price | The variant price. Products whose variants cost different amounts are described with a “from” price, and a compare-at price is shown as the price it was before. The currency comes from your store settings. |
| Stock | In stock if any variant is available, otherwise out of stock. It is passed to the AI with the price and description. |
| Photo | The product’s first image, attached to every post. If the listing has none, Orbin looks for the share image on the product page. |
| Title, description and link | The product title and a summary of its description, so the AI writes from your copy, and the product page on your own domain as the link. |
How Orbin spots a new product
Shopify gives each product a publish date, so Orbin sorts products by it and treats any product it has not seen before as new. A product dated before you connected the store is never posted, even if it reappears later.
What happens to a new product
- Orbin checks the store every 30 minutes for products it has not seen before.
- Products already in the store when you connect it are recorded, not posted, so connecting never floods your accounts with your back catalog.
- At most three new products become posts per check, scheduled two hours apart. Any more are listed as skipped, and you can still create a draft from any of them.
- Each post is written separately for each connected network (Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn), within that network’s character limit and in your brand voice, using only the facts in the product listing.
- Facebook, LinkedIn and X posts carry the product link with UTM tags. Instagram captions do not make links clickable, so Instagram posts end with a “link in bio” call to action instead.
- Instagram needs an image, so a product without one is posted to your other accounts only.
- Each post uses one AI credit.
Illustrative example
Product: Linen throw blanket, two colors, $64 (compare-at $80), in stock
New in: our linen throw, in two colors and $64 for launch week (was $80). Washed for softness, big enough for the whole sofa. 🛋️ Shop it at the link.

Good to know before you connect
- Orbin reads public stores only. While your Shopify storefront is password-protected, for example before launch, the product list can’t be read.
- If Orbin can’t read your store’s product list, paste the URL of a Google Merchant (Google Shopping) product feed instead; most Shopify stores can export one.
- Orbin posts new products, not changes to existing ones. A price drop or restock on a product it has already seen does not create a new post; write that post yourself or create a draft from the item list.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install a Shopify app?+
No. Orbin reads the public product list that every Shopify store already serves at /products.json, so there is nothing to install and no API key to create.
Will Orbin post my whole Shopify catalog when I connect?+
No. Products already in the store are recorded but not posted. Only products published after you connect become posts. You can still create a draft from any existing product by hand.
Can it post Shopify products to Instagram?+
Yes, to Instagram Business and Creator accounts linked to a Facebook Page. The product photo is attached, and the caption ends with a “link in bio” call to action, since Instagram captions do not have clickable links.
Does it work with a custom domain?+
Yes. Paste either address. Product links in your posts point at the domain your store actually serves, so shoppers land on your own site.
Can new products publish without my approval?+
On Business and above you can turn off review for a feed, and new product posts are scheduled automatically. On Starter and Professional every post waits in AI Drafts for approval.
