Post new WooCommerce products to social media automatically
Paste your store address once. Each product you add afterwards gets an on-brand post for Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn, with its photo, price and link.
To auto-post new WooCommerce products to social media with Orbin, connect your store URL as a Content Feed. Orbin reads the product catalog through the Store API built into WooCommerce, so there is no plugin or API key, and drafts a post for each new product with its photo, price, sale price, stock status and a tracked link.
Connect your WooCommerce store in four steps
- Step 1
Open Content Feeds and choose Store
In Orbin, open Content Feeds in the sidebar, click Connect a feed and choose Store.
- Step 2
Paste your store’s home page URL
Orbin finds WooCommerce’s Store API on your site, whether your WordPress permalinks are “pretty” or plain. If you already use the product RSS feed (/feed/?post_type=product), pasting it works too: Orbin switches to the full catalog.
- Step 3
Pick accounts, timing and instructions
Choose which connected accounts each new product goes to and how soon after it appears, from immediately to the next day. Add standing instructions if every post should mention something, such as a discount code.
- Step 4
Add products in WooCommerce as usual
Existing products are recorded, not posted. Each product you add afterwards gets a drafted post in Posts → Drafts, where you approve, edit or delete it.
What Orbin takes from your WooCommerce store
| Product catalog | WooCommerce’s public Store API (/wp-json/wc/store/v1/products), newest products first, up to 100 per check. Unlike WooCommerce’s product RSS feed, which lists only the latest 10 products with no price or image, it carries the whole listing. |
|---|---|
| Price and sale price | The price in your store’s currency. A product on sale is described with its sale price and the price it was before, and a variable product with its lowest “from” price. |
| Stock | Whether the product is in stock, passed to the AI with the price and description. |
| Photo | The product’s main image, attached to every post. If there is none, Orbin looks for the share image on the product page. |
| Title, description and link | The product name and its short description (or the full description if the short one is empty), and the product’s permalink as the link. |
How Orbin spots a new product
The Store API does not report when a product was published, so Orbin recognises new products by their WooCommerce product ID: any ID it has not seen before is new. Products that were in the store when you connected are recorded and never posted.
What happens to a new product
- Orbin checks the store every 30 minutes for products it has not seen before.
- Products already in the store when you connect it are recorded, not posted, so connecting never floods your accounts with your back catalog.
- At most three new products become posts per check, scheduled two hours apart. Any more are listed as skipped, and you can still create a draft from any of them.
- Each post is written separately for each connected network (Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn), within that network’s character limit and in your brand voice, using only the facts in the product listing.
- Facebook, LinkedIn and X posts carry the product link with UTM tags. Instagram captions do not make links clickable, so Instagram posts end with a “link in bio” call to action instead.
- Instagram needs an image, so a product without one is posted to your other accounts only.
- Each post uses one AI credit.
Illustrative example
Product: Handmade ceramic mug, $28 on sale from $34, in stock
New in the shop: our handmade ceramic mug, glazed in small batches so no two are quite the same. ☕ $28 for launch week (was $34). Grab one before this batch is gone: link below.

Good to know before you connect
- Orbin reads public stores only. A site behind a maintenance page, a login or HTTP authentication can’t be read.
- Some security plugins block the WordPress REST API, which the Store API is part of. If Orbin can’t read your catalog, allow public access to the Store API’s product list, or paste a Google Merchant (Google Shopping) feed URL instead.
- Orbin posts new products, not changes to existing ones. Putting an existing product on sale does not create a new post; create a draft from the item list if you want one.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a WordPress or WooCommerce plugin?+
No. The Store API that Orbin reads is part of WooCommerce itself and is public, so there is no plugin to install and no API key or app password to create.
Why not just use the WooCommerce product RSS feed?+
WooCommerce’s product RSS lists only the latest 10 products and has no price, stock or image. Orbin reads the Store API instead, which includes all three, so posts can show the product photo and quote the real price.
Will Orbin post every product already in my store?+
No. When you connect, existing products are recorded but not posted. Only products added afterwards become posts, and you can create a draft from any older product by hand.
Does it handle variable products and sales?+
Yes. A variable product is described with its lowest “from” price, and a product on sale with its sale price and the regular price it was before.
Can posts go out without my approval?+
On Business and above you can turn off review for a feed so new product posts are scheduled automatically. On Starter and Professional each post waits in AI Drafts for approval.
