Content Feeds connect Orbin to your blog or online store. When you publish a new article or add a new product, Orbin writes a social post for it, with the item's image and link, and saves it to AI Drafts for your review.
What you need first
- At least one connected social account. See Getting started.
- A public blog or store. Orbin can't read a password-protected store or a feed behind a login.
Connect a feed
Open Content Feeds in the sidebar and click Connect a feed.
- Choose Blog or Store.
- Blog watches for new articles.
- Store watches for new products.
- Paste your URL. Your home page is usually enough. Orbin looks for the feed itself:
- Blogs: WordPress, Ghost, Substack, Wix, Squarespace, and any site with an RSS or Atom feed. If Orbin can't find yours, paste the feed URL itself; it often ends in
/feed,/rss.xmlor/atom.xml. - Shopify and WooCommerce: paste the store URL. There's no app or plugin to install.
- Other stores: paste the URL of your Google Merchant (Google Shopping) product feed.
- Pick the accounts this feed should post to.
- Choose when posts go out:
- as soon as an item is found
- 1 hour later
- 3 hours later
- the next day
- Add instructions (optional). Write anything you want every post to say or avoid, such as "mention free shipping over $50".
- Click Connect feed.
Everything already in your feed when you connect it is recorded but not posted. Only articles and products that appear afterwards become posts.
What happens next
Orbin checks each feed every 30 minutes. For every new item it:
- Writes a separate version for each network, within that network's character limit and in your brand voice. It uses only the facts in the article or product.
- Adds the link on Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Instagram captions don't make links clickable, so Instagram posts end with a "link in bio" call to action instead.
- Tags the link with UTM parameters (
utm_source,utm_medium=social,utm_campaign=orbin_feed), so your analytics show the traffic each network sends. You can turn this off per feed. - Attaches the item's image. Instagram requires an image, so items without one go to your other accounts only.
- Saves the post to Posts → Drafts (AI Drafts), where you can approve it, edit it or delete it.
Each post uses one AI credit.
Try it right away
You don't have to wait for your next article. On the feed's card, click Show items and then Create draft next to any item, including ones that were already on your site.
Review or automatic publishing
By default, every feed post waits for your approval. On Business and above you can turn off Review before publishing for a feed, and Orbin schedules new items automatically.
| Plan | Feeds | Publishing |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | Review required |
| Professional | 5 | Review required |
| Business | 20 | Review or automatic |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Review or automatic |
Current limits are always on the pricing page.
Safeguards
- At most three new items become posts per check. If you import a batch of products at once, the rest show as Skipped. You can still create a draft from any of them.
- Items dated before you connected the feed are never posted, even if they appear in the feed later (for example, after a site migration).
- Each item is posted at most once, however often the feed is checked.
Feed statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Checked every 30 minutes |
| Paused | Not checked until you click Resume |
| Needs attention | The feed failed several checks in a row (for example, the site was down or the feed moved). Checks stop until you click Check now. |
Each item in Show items also shows what happened to it:
| Item status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Already on site | It was in the feed when you connected it |
| Draft created | Its post is waiting in AI Drafts |
| Scheduled | Its post was scheduled automatically |
| Skipped | It wasn't posted; the row says why |
| Failed | Writing its post failed; the row says why |
Common questions
Why wasn't my new article posted? Click Check now, then Show items to see its status and the reason. Common causes:
- The feed hasn't updated yet. Some platforms cache their feed for a few minutes.
- The item is dated before you connected the feed.
- The workspace is out of AI credits.
Can I change a post before it goes out? Yes. Open it in Posts → Drafts, edit the text and approve it.
Will disconnecting a feed delete its posts? No. Posts it already created stay where they are.
Do I need a plugin for WordPress, Shopify or WooCommerce? No. Orbin reads the feeds these platforms already publish.
