How to connect X (Twitter)

Connect your X (formerly Twitter) account to Orbin so you can schedule and publish posts.

Last updated

To connect X, open Social Accounts → Connect Account, click Connect next to X / Twitter, and approve the request on X. Orbin can then schedule and publish posts to that account.

Steps

  1. Open Social Accounts in the sidebar and click Connect Account.
  2. Click Connect next to X / Twitter.
  3. Sign in to X if asked, and approve Orbin's request. Orbin asks to read posts, read your account details, and post on your behalf. It also asks to stay connected, so you do not have to log in again every time.
  4. The account appears in your accounts list.

Before you start

  • In Orbin, you need to be a workspace Admin or Owner. Members and Viewers cannot connect accounts.
  • Your plan limits how many accounts you can connect.

Posting to X from Orbin

  • Posts to X are limited to 280 characters, and Orbin shows a live count. If one post is going to several networks, the composer warns you when it is too long for X.
  • You can schedule posts to X like any other network. See How to schedule posts.

For network-specific details, see Schedule X posts.

Troubleshooting

  • The account shows an expired-access notice. Click Reconnect on the account and approve the request again. This can happen if you revoked Orbin's access in X's settings.
  • A post fails to publish. Open the post to read the error, fix the cause, and reschedule it. See Troubleshooting.
