How to predict post engagement

Run an engagement prediction on a draft before you publish. Learn where to find it, what the score and estimates mean, and how to use the suggestions.

Last updated

To predict how a post will perform, write it in the composer, go to the Review step, and click Run prediction. Orbin returns a score from 0 to 100, estimated likes, comments, and shares, a confidence level, and suggestions to improve the post.

A prediction is an estimate, not a guarantee. Use it to compare versions of a post and spot weak points.

Steps

  1. Click New Post and write your post. The prediction needs some text to work with.
  2. Choose the accounts to publish to, and set when it will go out.
  3. On the Review step, find the Predict engagement card and click Run prediction.
  4. Read the result, apply the suggestions you agree with, and click Re-run to check the changed version.

The prediction runs for the first account you selected, so it reflects that account's network and past performance.

What you get

  • Predicted engagement score: a rating from 0 to 100. The ring is green at 70 and above, amber from 45 to 69, and red below 45.
  • Confidence: how much the estimate can be trusted. Accounts with more post history give Orbin more to work with.
  • Estimated likes, comments, and shares: approximate counts for this post.
  • Suggestions: up to three plain-language changes that could improve it.

What it is based on

The prediction combines your account's past performance, the draft's own characteristics such as its length, structure, and hashtags, and a quality assessment from Claude.

Credits and plans

A prediction runs only when you click, and it uses AI credits from your monthly allowance. Engagement prediction is listed as a Professional-and-above feature on the pricing page.

Tips

  • Compare two versions of the same idea. The difference between scores is more useful than either number alone.
  • Check your real results in Analytics to see how predictions compare with what happened.
